I absolutely love the graphics for the Xbox game Cuphead “Don’t deal with the Devil” so myself and Emma decided this was our theme for cosplay at Sci-Fi weekender this year.
After saying never again for papier mache after Rick and Morty (such hard work) Emma broke our deal and is doing a massive Cuphead (pics will follow). I however decided to recreate my favourite boss Cagney Carnation by creating a creepy mask. This is so far – i’ll also get some pics at the event showing the whole outfit.
So, the Sci-Fi Weekender is nearly here again and cosplay calls. As my better half is going as the Terminator (it is a big birthday for her, so her call – good one I may add) I have decided to go as Sarah Connor from Terminator 2. The big hair from Terminator 1 was tempting, but kick-ass Sarah Connor won instead. This will be less of a making outfit and more sourcing and putting together. I will also be spending may hours at the gym trying to get those arms, of course ignoring the fact that losing a few pounds might help 🙂
I’ve been so late updating this – I appologise! Here are a couple of pics from Manchester Comic Con. It was a good laugh despite the two hour queue to get in, hope everyonw else had fun too! Best buy of … Continue reading →
Well, confession time, I got a bit too carried away playing Text Adventures and Manic Miner to take hardly any cosplay photos, but there were some great costumes. The picture I was most pleased to get was the one below of the Ghostbusters, they were amazing!
So, my thoughts on the day. In many ways I liked Play Expo better than Eurogamer (shock horror), I loved all the old games and consoles and the pinball and arcade machines were great fun. It may not have had the pizazz of Eurogamer, but it had a great atmosphere and a walk down memory lane.
Well, the Eurogamer Expo is done now for another year and I must say I loved it! It was great to see all the fantastic cosplayers, many of which were lovely and friendly. I got to play some great games and had a few cheeky beers at the after party with some great and very scary zombies!
I think my first experience of cosplay has taught me a great deal, mainly the amount of time and effort that goes into the costumes. I learnt that although I enjoyed being Alice for the day I think I prefer the actual making of the costume to the wearing, maybe i’m a little too shy for the wearing haha! I’ll definitely do it again and any suggestions for my next will be gratefully received, i’ll consider anything as long as it doesn’t involve a long wig that gets in my eyes all day lol 🙂
Here is my Eurogamer Expo pic, I look a little uncomfortable.
